Dr. Heinrich "Geist" Voss

"You cannot understand genius until you witness it. I am not a monster—I am a pioneer."

Dr. Heinrich Voss was once a brilliant and respected physician in the medical community. Known for his sharp intellect and revolutionary ideas. . However, Voss became obsessed with the concept of unlocking the full potential of the human brain. His early experiments, focused on using electricity to stimulate the mind, were met with growing suspicion and unease by his peers. They saw his work as unorthodox, even dangerous, as his methods became increasingly invasive and cruel.

As his obsession deepened, Voss began conducting extreme experiments on unwilling patients. He believed that through electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and other radical techniques, he could eradicate mental illness, elevate human consciousness, and unlock psychic abilities. His "treatments," however, left many of his subjects permanently damaged or dead. His colleagues turned on him, and after several high-profile failures, Voss was disgraced and stripped of his medical license. Cast out of the scientific community and shunned by society, he vanished into obscurity. In the shadows, Voss became known as Geist, a name symbolizing his ghost-like existence in the underground world of the Parisian catacombs. Geist began working in secret, conducting his experiments on the forgotten, the insane, and those sent to the asylum—people no one would miss. His obsession grew darker and more deranged as he sought to redefine the limits of human existence.

Geist uses extreme forms of ECT and brutal experimentation, believing he can erase fear, trauma, and humanity itself from his victims, pushing them toward a "higher" state of being. In his mind, pain and suffering are essential to transcendence. His unholy work continues, hidden beneath the city in his labyrinthine lair, surrounded by crude machinery and crackling Tesla coils. He’s convinced that one day, the world will recognize his genius and that his "cures" will become the key to the next stage of human evolution.
